Team USA welcomed talented military pitchers from other services to the island on April 8 at Camp Scofield to test their talents for bragging rights and several prizes.

Representing the active force at Barracks Scofield were soldiers from the 25th Special Battalion Headquarters Support Company, including Sgt. First Class Ken Andreas, HSC Operations Officer, and Sgt. Brian Ash I, an Equal Opportunity Representative for STB.

Andreas said: “I am proud to represent my company and . "Through this competition, we had the opportunity to meet other sides of the military and meet some of their best soldiers and pitchers."

For team members, the goal of the tournament is to win, but the most rewarding aspect is the opportunity to compete against such a diverse group of multi-service pitchers.

"We're bowling to win," Andreas said. "But we all want to have fun and improve by meeting and competing with pitchers from other services."

When the competition ended, a sense of camaraderie was felt among all the teams present for some of the event's viewers. The pitchers competing against each other laughed, cheered, and teased each other between pins. According to Andreas, this is the reward that all pitchers take home at the end of the day.
