Military men and women, military family members, and retired military personnel from Barrack Schofield compete against teams representing the United States Marine Corps, Air Force, and Navy in Bowling All-Services, which takes place April 4–9 in Oahu. It was held at several military bases. ,

Team USA welcomed talented military pitchers from other services to the island on April 8 at Camp Scofield to test their talents for bragging rights and several prizes.
Representing the active force at Barracks Scofield were soldiers from the 25th Special Battalion Headquarters Support Company, including Sgt. First Class Ken Andreas, HSC Operations Officer, and Sgt. Brian Ash I, an Equal Opportunity Representative for STB.
Andreas said: “I am proud to represent my company and . "Through this competition, we had the opportunity to meet other sides of the military and meet some of their best soldiers and pitchers."
As part of the five-day tournament, competitors visited several bowling alleys on military bases in Oahu, including Kaneohe Bay, Hickam Air Force Base, Pearl Harbor, and Camp Scofield. Each of these positions gives teams a chance to perform on their "home turf".

"Many pitchers here feel that Scofield's lines are some of the better ones on the island," Andreas says. "But every service has the opportunity to serve in one of their military locations of service."
For team members, the goal of the tournament is to win, but the most rewarding aspect is the opportunity to compete against such a diverse group of multi-service pitchers.
"We're bowling to win," Andreas said. "But we all want to have fun and improve by meeting and competing with pitchers from other services."
Pitchers were scored according to their performance during the five-day tournament by competition category and gender. Singles, doubles, mixed doubles and total points are dropped in competition categories.

"I didn't go into the tournament expecting to be perfect," said Giovanna Morley, Senna's wife and leader of the women's singles tournament at Scofield.
When the competition ended, a sense of camaraderie was felt among all the teams present for some of the event's viewers. The pitchers competing against each other laughed, cheered, and teased each other between pins. According to Andreas, this is the reward that all pitchers take home at the end of the day.
"At the beginning of the tournament, some people took a more serious approach, but since then the league has become more fun," Morley said. "We're all here to have a good time," says Andreas. "We're enjoying the competition and helping each other." Fort Shafter, Hawaii - Bowling after dark has never felt so good at this newly remodeled bowling alley.
Cosmic bowling or "glow bowling" combines the typical bowling alley with black lights, flashing graphics, and party music to match.
Schofield Soldiers, Spouses Compete In Multi Service Bowling Tournament
"Over the past few years, bowling has become more attractive to the youth market for birthday parties and family/corporate gatherings," said Don Yonamine, manager of Fort Shafter Bowling Center. "In keeping with this trend, we have upgraded our cosmic bowling game to improve upon the outdated and poor sound and lighting system."
Improvements include two new large screens with LCD projectors, three new LCD flat panel TVs, the latest Brunswick scoring system and new Brunswick Synthetic Pro Lanes.
"The space bowling program is an ideal location for Fort Schaefer because the installation is not a Tropics War Zone-like facility," said Rhonda Hunter, Head of Sales Operations, Family Board of Directors. Family and spirituality, wellness and entertainment said; United States-Hawaiian Garrison.

School Camp - In 2007, while stationed in Kitzingen, Germany, Sgt. Brian Guinn's platoon was left early to complete all missions before lunch.

Guinn and a small group of soldiers were not ready to go home, so they decided to spend some time at the bowling alley.
2-14 Cav Guinn said, "It was almost an instant decision that I really enjoyed what I was doing. I started spending more time at the bowling alley." Electrical Warfare Officer.
He quickly realized he was good enough, so a few years later, while stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, he began competing in bowling. Since then, he has continued to improve himself and his bowling skills.
Guinn became a prolific pitcher participating in several doubles tournaments, throwing 11 in a row, three times and barely missing a perfect set by two pins.

"My father taught me to play bowls," said Jacobs, a non-commissioned officer who was promoted to squadron. "Bowling is my family's way of spending quality time together."
Growing up, bowling changed for Jacobs. The game went from being a family event to just having fun with your friends. Bowling served as his only source of entertainment until he was stationed at Scofield Barracks.
Guinn and Jacobs met shortly after Jacobs arrived on the island. They quickly realized that they were both avid pitchers. Both of them started bowling together in their spare time.
Jacobs said, "When I came here, Sergeant Guinn protected me, taught me how to be a better competitor in the world of bowling."

Guinn says, "SPC. Jacobs is a quick learner; I take everything I teach and make it instantly."
Guinn persuaded Jacobs to try out for the All-Hawaii bowling team. The practice sessions were two grueling days of bowling.
Guinn made the team, but Jacobs was not initially shortlisted. Due to a rule change, Jacobs was allowed to join the team as a substitute.
Once on the team, the two begin learning from a new mentor, Sgt. Major General Kenneth Reynolds. Jacobs has learned so much during this time that his skill level has improved dramatically.
Of The Best Things To Do Near Schofield Barracks
The team participated in the Hawaii All-Army Bowling Competition. He practiced non-stop to prepare for the competition. Guinn and Jacobs continued to raise their skill levels.
Jacobs feels her skills have improved a lot and is ready to compete in her first real competition. Sadly it looks like he won't get the chance. The All Hawaii team is full and there will be no need to replace them.
Someone on the team asked Jacobs to compete to fill a vacancy on the retirement team. The proposal worked and the retirees picked him up in their team.
The All-Hawaiian Military Competition was a four-day competition held at Camp Schofield; Marine Corps Base Hawaii, at Kaneohe Bay; and at Pearl Harbor. There are teams representing each branch of the military, including retirees.

During the tournament, both Guinn and Jacobs excelled in bowling. Guinn maintained a 192 average, helping him finish fourth overall. Jacobs threw his highest three-game streak with 724. Jacobs helped the retirement team finish second in the tournament and third in the Odds Doubles event.
It was bitter when Jacobs finished second with the retirement team. However, he was very proud of how good he was at bowling.
Although they bowled on different teams, Guinn and Jacobs cheered each other on, encouraging each other to give their best.
Both Guinn and Jacobs have big plans for their future in bowling. Both plan to compete in the Hawaii state tournament and try out for the Army traveling team.

Jacobs hopes to one day make the All Bowling Team; However, both will continue to grow as pitchers learn from each other and those around them.
Guinn explained a quote by Badger Vance: "Bowling is a game that can never
